Re: Binning BT phoneline...any way of keeping email address?
Yeh I get that. Was just hoping some tech nerds could tell me how I could forward everything from a joe.bloggs@btinternet.com address to a new one (whatever my new provider is going to give me).

And even then, would it work if BT do as they say they will and just delete that original email addy? Can’t forward anything from a defunct email, right?

I hate change.

Now would be a good time to set up a new address and forward it to your contacts and update all your web pages/stationery.

Cheers fellas. Checked the BT page and definitely says it’ll be dead after 30 days. All my business comes via that email so I’m in a minor shitstorm. Will try the ideas already suggested and see what happens.

Although would rather not leave it to pot luck whether it remains active!!

Mate of mine binned AoL about 5 years ago and has gone through about 4 providers since then (he's an IT illiterate argumentative fucker with zero patience).

He's still got an AoL Email account/address though.

I'll ask him how he did it, but the answer is likely to be "fucked if I can remember".

I always though that you could take e-mail addresses with you when you change ISP, the same way as you can keep your old number when you switch mobile phone provider.

Ofcom probably has the answer.

Looks like you have to pay to sign up for BT Premium Mail.

7.50 a month.

I moved from BT to Vodafone over a year ago and just set up auto-forwarding as described in the link.

Having said that, my @btinternet address is still fully operational despite them telling me it would end after a month.

Re: Binning BT phoneline...any way of keeping email address?
Cant you just put a forwarding rule to send them to another account?

I did this for the missus (cos she couldn't get her head around 2 email addresses) but I'll admit that both accounts are active whereas your BT one may not be

Actually thinking about it I used to have BT I'll see if my address is still valid

Hold on....
